Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 October 2026

Watered Down collects no data at all. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, and the app makes no network requests. Nothing you log ever leaves your iPhone.

What the app stores

Watered Down keeps your current session — when it started, the drinks and waters you logged and their times — plus the summary of your last session. All of it is written to the app’s own private storage on your device, using Apple’s standard UserDefaults mechanism.

We never see any of it. There is no server to send it to.

Notifications

The water reminders are local notifications, scheduled by the app on your device. They are not push notifications, so nothing is sent through Apple’s or our servers to deliver them. You are asked for notification permission the first time you start a session, and you can revoke it at any time in Settings → Notifications → Watered Down.

Live Activity

The Lock Screen and Dynamic Island timer is an ActivityKit Live Activity driven entirely by the app on your device. It uses no push tokens and transmits nothing.

Device backups

Because your session is stored in the app’s container, it will be included in an iPhone backup if you back your device up to iCloud or to a computer. That backup is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your own device settings, not by us — we have no access to it.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything it stored. There is nothing else to delete and no request to make, because we hold nothing.

Children

Watered Down is rated 17+ and is intended for adults of legal drinking age. It is not directed at children and we knowingly collect no information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. If a future version of the app ever collects anything, we will say so here plainly and in the App Store privacy label before it ships.
